There are a lot of great crowdfunding campaigns happening right now. We can barely keep up! Got one we should know about? Email [email protected].
Marya Jones is no slouch. The Albuquerque, NM-based zinester is the founder of the ABQ Zine Fest, the Albuquerque Zine Library and founder of the DIY performance clubhouse The Tannex. (She was also featured in our October cover story on POC zinesters.)
Now, Marya is looking to take her zine collection, skills and knowledge to Sweden for the TITWRENCH Stockholm Festival. At this women’s music festival, she aims to present The Pamphleteer Project, which includes a pop-up zine library and give free workshops to attendees. Through this project, Jones is looking to help diversify zine collections or create new ones with a focus on women/feminism, people of colour and gender inclusivity.
As is typical with many zine crowdfunding projects, Jones has some sweet handmade perks for donors, including a packet of her own zines, buttons, tote bags, a Sweden travel zine, a hand-picked Swedish care package, and more. This is a great opportunity for this talented, committed person and we think The Pamphleteer Project would be a huge asset to the festival. Let’s help her get there! Visit The Pamphleteer Project’s IndieGogo page for more info.
