XYZed delivers again. Big props to this long-running zine! This issue is devoted to “Sports Entertainment” and could easily have been devoted to any of the typical sport type zines. But instead the team pulls out some truly interesting and engaging work. Included in this issue are features on the Houston Astrodome (including its use for victims of Hurricane Katrina), the World Hockey Association (very timely considering 2006’s Stanley Cup final featuring the first match up of WHA teams) and a humourous little interview with one of the members of “The Bad News Bears.” Add to these some smart reviews of other small press publications and CDs, and XYZed displays the very virtues that have made it successful and revered.
