Good to see the Gilman Girls are still alive and pontificating. Tina Long is one of ’em and this, Cough, is her self-proclaimed “art and music zine”. And you know what? She nailed it. Lots of music, lots of art, all presented in a manner that’s both fun and informative. Interviews with I Object and photographer Chris Strong are nice, the Blood Brothers drawings are double nice and the CD reviews are (yes) triple nice–plus short and sweet. And the Overheard news bytes section offers some killer insight into a bunch of NoCal punk bands that hopefully deserve to be heard. If you find yourself longish for an authentic throwback music zine, why not grab your balls and Cough. (Cameron Gordon)
