This cycle of poems is essentially a retelling of the Adam and Eve story (think The Bible). It’s not bad in terms of its humorous take on the eating of the forbidden fruit. But this is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that above/ground has so obviously overpriced this particular chapbook. I mean, for what is essentially 4 photocopied letter-sized pages you’d expect a price of $1.00 at most. This problem is somewhat sad as a poet like Michelle Desbarate Fels deserves to have a larger audience then she is likely to get. (DP)
