Long-running music fanzine. First, the good points: lots of record reviews; the writing is improving and the issues are getting progressively fatter; contributions by reputable music scribes Tom Tearaway and Adrian Bromley; and at issue #56, Caustic Truths continues to display an admirable perseverance that few zines in the country can match. The bad points: after 56 issues, you’d think they’d finally get a handle on how to scan and print out graphics. The cover alone is a diabolical mess. Worse, the photocopying and collating is so brutal that margins and text are routinely cut off on several pages, and you’re obliged to remove staples to read the rest. Listen up guys, if you want more subscribers you’ve got to take a little more care. As it is, you’re tempting ridicule. (DF)
