We are moments away from the biggest zine fest you can go to without leaving your bed. Online Canzine starts May 5th and runs until May 11th, where you’ll be able to peruse a wide, wild world of zines, comics, self-published lit and all manner of crafty goodies.
Not sure where to start? We’ll have a number of categories to help guide you along this pleasant path, from Perzine Picnic, where introspective zines gather, to the lush Fanzine Forest, where zinesters express their love for all kinds of cultural ephemera. As far as the eye can see, Handmade Hills have uncannily crafted works while the Artisan’s Garden highlights illustrators in full bloom. From Comic Cove to Lavender Lit, to Fiction Field and Cottage Queers, this valley of splendorous zines is a sight to behold.
Still need a little guidance? Maybe the stars can help. Our Zine Horoscopes can forecast what creative works you are destined to dig. If you prefer testimonials a little more direct than the tides of the cosmos, some zinesters will be giving readings of their work, which you will be able to see on the Canzine portal and our YouTube page.
And what’s a festival without a launch party? Even online we’re kicking things off in a big way. We have teamed up with Gold Ninja Video for the long-awaited return of The Laser Blast Film Society, an exclusive streaming event of two Canadian lo-fi indie epics.
If April showers are leaking into your May, there’s plenty of sunshine and good times at Online Canzine, your destination for zine greatness and cozy convenience.
