From the Salem witch trials to Bewitched to The Craft, witchcraft has really been portrayed as joke by the mainstream media. This work sets out to remedy that matter. Basically, it’s a handbook of Wiccan theology covering the early history of the movement (it started only 60 years ago according to this book) through basic ritual, beliefs and spiritual journeys. As such, it makes for absorbing reading. As a religion, Wicca sounds a lot more appealing than most mainstream religions. But it also sounds a lot like New Age gibberish. Either way, there’s nothing on how to make magic with a twitch of your nose. (KR)
