Michael comes to us from the auspices of the O’Conner College School, somewhere in the suburbs of Toronto. As a result, his jokes are a bit obscure, perhaps references to the goings-on at his school, who knows? He does have a few funny moments, a satire of well meaning government sponsored exercise commercials on tv, for instance. Also, there’s a decent jab at Mel Lastman, mayor of Toronto, and his horrendous looking hair. I sympathize, because every time I look at Mel’s hair it just makes me ill. At any rate, there are several pages dedicated to some kid named Michael Anthony, who has better hair than Mel, but who lacks similar mythic status, at least for anyone not attending the O’Conner School.
