This fetish ‘zine devotes itself to the ‘alternative’ sex practices of sadomasochism, bondage and domination. It comes across as being well-informed on these matters. The fourteen pages contain information general enough to be of interest to almost anyone, and specific enough to appeal to serious practitioners. This is not even close to porn. The articles in Redemption tend to be factual and surprisingly mundane, considering the topic. Jacqui’s article on “Cyberspace and Bondage” simply discusses some computer BBS options. Our editrix Xandria provides some helpful hints for you novices about getting some bondage/domination experience under your belt. Her well meaning advice runs along the lines of respecting limits and so on. I preferred the articles that assumed a fair degree of involvement in the ‘scene’ — the guide to handkerchief symbolism, the question and answer column, and Sasha M’s to-be-continued erotic tale were all highly entertaining. With a few more submissions and a non-gothic font easier on the eyes, Redemption will dominate.
