As gray as a graveyard, as morbid as a freshly dug massacre, as depressing as a mummy in a museum, is it any wonder that out of a huge stack of skull laden photocopies I choose the issue called “Fucking Torment” to review? Or, for that matter, that the issue started with the sentence: “Bring me down to a level you can understand, and I will assist you however possible”? That, as far as I can tell, is a sort of Parental Lobotomy manifesto. Ghoulish lists, headlines and incitements decorate a general mocking call to action. Yeah, c’mon, skull collages, weird penguin hooked figures, gothic doctors peering over patients, all them taunting perversities feeding on human failure, c’mon try it, hell, try anything, they’re ready. The Children of the Corn of the zine world.
