ROOM has grown it’s way from a good idea and lots of hard work to become a truly invaluable cultural guide to Windsor-Essex County. Read it backwards and you’ll be impressed by the events listings; there’s something to do every single day. Then you’ll get new music reviews of various indie labels and demos from all over, bands like Green ‘Round the Gills, SNFU, and Free Kitten are given well-deserved primacy over a smattering of big label stuff like 13 Engines, Simple Minds and Whale. The guts of ROOM feature local political issues and occurrences, arts coverage, live music reviews and regular columns like “Practicing Paranoid of the Populous” and “Serial Diners” and Maddy Sinned’s energetic commentary on topics as diverse as what Barbie has over the Police and how Gay Pride Day went in the casino city. Makes you almost want to vacation in Windsor, maybe.
