Submissions
Lucky Jefferson literary journal is seeking submissions from Black writers and artists. The theme for their upcoming issue is uncharted, borderless frontiers with an emphasis on “how the west was (or still is) Black.”
- Haikus
- Short poems
- Micro fiction
- Prose, short story, flash fiction, creative non-fiction
- Hybrid, experimental essays, long-form pieces
- All artwork
Requirements
- Must identify as a Black writer and/or artist
- Document your frontier with an “ism” (racism, homophobia, etc.)

Pay
You will receive:
- $15 — Haiku, Short Poems (<14 lines), Micro Fiction (under 100-300 words)
SUBMIT UP TO 3 PIECES PER UPLOAD
- $25 — Prose, Short Story, Flash fiction, Creative-Nonfiction (under 1000 words)
SUBMIT NO MORE THAN 1 PIECE PER UPLOAD
- $50 — Hybrid, Experimental, Essays, Long-form pieces. (under 2000 words)
SUBMIT NO MORE THAN 1 PIECE PER UPLOAD
- $50 — All Artwork (includes comics, paintings, etc.)
SUBMIT UP TO 3 PIECES PER UPLOAD
