Far too Fat Zine
About: What is it like to be fat at work? Far too Fat Zine knows that “Workplaces are spaces that we fatties can find super uncomfortable, if not downright discriminatory and fatphobic. Far Too Fat Issue 2 hopes to unpack some of the tangled-up feelings, thoughts, and experiences we have working while fat. FTF is also seeking examples of workplaces that welcome and celebrate fat bodies, and other positive experiences that folks have had while being fat at work.”
Guidelines: Far too Fat Zine wants your stories, poems, essays and art about fatness and intersectionality in the workplace- whatever that “workplace” looks/sounds/feels like for you- and how your weight, body size and shape affects how you feel and how you experience being at work. They also welcome contributions that reflect on the ways that being fat makes it difficult or impossible to work in the ways capitalism tells us you “should” and the barriers in accessing income that you face while living your fattest life.
Submissions: Aside from this particular theme FTF is always looking for submissions made by, for and about fat folks including: writing about fat lived-experiences; fatty poetry; fat erotica and pornography positively centering fat bodies; photography and art of all kinds; found images; rants; fat fiction; and any and all other types of contributions that explore life with the bulge. Submissions can reflect on experiences of body terrorism, including body negativity, policing and shaming; explore body positivity; or take a body neutral approach- all perspectives and experiences are welcome. Submissions from BIPOC and two-spirit, trans, non-binary and intersex fat folks will be given publishing priority.
