Frisson Comics
About: A Liverpool-based comics collaboration between Katie Whittle (artist) and Tom Smith (writer) producing independent horror comics. Frisson Comics was formed in 2016 by artist Katie Whittle and Writer Tom Smith through a mutual love of all things horror.
Submissions: Frisson Comics are taking submissions for the latest issue of their zine ‘Knock Knock.’ For this issue they are looking for Folk Horror themed comics, illustration, prose, and poetry based around this theme. The theme can be interpreted with horror stories of cults, rituals, and folklore or can be interpreted more loosely as a horror that emanates from people and society at large.
No strict page limit for submissions but recommend that comics are around 1-6 pages (but they’re flexible)
Images should be black and white/greyscale, at least 300 dpi, and designed to fit into an A5 format (5.8 x 8.3 inches)
Text submissions should not exceed 1500 words (but again, they’re flexible with this)
Submissions should be accompanied by up to 2 social media links for promotion in the credits of the zine.
P.S. if your submissions get included in the ‘Knock Knock’ zine, you will get a free finished PDF of the zine that you can sell, print, or even distribute.
