Submissions
“Free Our Mamas” is looking for submissions from BIPOC (including currently and formerly incarcerated mothers of colour), related to the conditions they face so that those on the inside and outside can collectively organize to build a world where all mamas can live dignified lives, free from cages & the clutches of the carceral state. Submissions include:
- Essays
- Visual art
- Photography
- Comics
- Poetry
- Resources
Requirements
- Please limit written submissions to 2500 words & attach .png/.jpeg art images.
- Please include a 2-3 sentence third person bio (unless you wish to remain anonymous).
- Submissions can be related to mothers of colour, non-cis BIPOC parents, and pregnant BIPOC’s conditions leading up to, during, and/or after sentencing inside prisons, jails, detention facilities, and/or psychiatric hospitals.
Pay
Each contributor selected will be PAID (including incarcerated folks via their commissary) & will receive a free copy.
