Canzine Vendor Spotlight: Paterson Hodgson

Canzine 2023 is only days away! We’re counting down to the biggest zine event of the year with spotlights on some of the vendors, zinesters and artists in attendance. For this edition, meet Paterson Hodgson, a cartoonist and illustrator based in Parkdale, Toronto. She focuses on autobiographical work about “being a working-class renter in a big, expensive, hostile city, queerness, body image, and personal reflection.”

You’ll find Paterson at Canzine selling her latest collection: Comics by Paterson Volume 3. Pick up a copy for a sneak peek at her upcoming sci-fi graphic novel: Skippers.

Paterson is especially excited for comic readings at Bug Milk, a show being held the night before Canzine, October 21st, at The Beguiling (more info here). She loves meeting new artists and making new friends when she tables events like Canzine.

Find Paterson at the Canzine Festival of Zines and Underground Press this Sunday, October 22nd in Toronto at the Cecil Community Centre from 10AM – 5PM. You can find out more information about vendors and programming at our official Canzine hub.
