Art holes is a column where artists diagram their work spaces. This issue, artist Billy Starfield gives us a look.
Much like my life in general, my studio is a serious mess. It’s the size of a shoebox and is filled from floor to ceiling with art tools, of course, but also precious things from which I draw inspiration. If you know me at all, you might already have an idea of what kind of stuff it is! Vintage wrapping paper, girl toys from the ’80s, funky clothes… And, very importantly, my cats, who are my favourite assistants.
Billy Starfield (also known as Starchild Stela) is an illustrator and zine maker living in Montreal, QC. They write about trauma, healing, and all sorts of funny and not-so-funny adventures. They are currently working on a comic book and getting ready for a cozy winter in their studio.
