Call: Super Awesome Zine Fair! (Toronto)
Stephanie Kenzie and Rosena Fung are hosting a zine fair October 26 at Nook Collective and we are currently accepting submissions! If you’re also interested in selling prints, crafts, book arts, originals, sculptures, etc. etc. you should definitely join. Half tables are $15, full tables are $30, or if you only want to display one or two things, we can sort you in our Awesome collective distro table. We are accepting first come first serve, so let us know asap! Shoot us an email at [email protected] (or just fb msg us)! (also join the facebook group “super Awesome Zine Fair”.)
Call: Sprouted Ink Zine Issue #3
Sprouted Ink is a collaborative personal and art zine about mental health, self empowerment, and DIY learning/sharing, run by the Sprout collective. Issue #3 of their zine will answer the question: What do you do when you feel triggered, unworthy or depressed? Submissions do not have to be directly related to mental health – the editors will also dig your submissions as they relate to DIY and self-improvement. Deadline is September 1, 2013. For complete guidelines, visit the Sprouted Ink website.
I will not lie – I included this call for subs because I love both the name of this mag and the theme of its first issue. Dirty Chai is a brand-new publication based out of Minnesota. For its debut issue, it’s looking for pieces that center around the theme “Dark and Dirty.” Interpret that however you like. Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2013 – natch. GET EVIL. Here’s their guidelines!
Call: Sassafras Literary Magazine
The “littlest litmag in the world” Sassafras Literary Magazine is looking for some tiny pieces from writers who can work within their limits. Submit poetry (20 lines max), flash fiction (1000 words max.), “flashling” (10-50 words), nonfiction, and memoirs. Deadline is open. Their actual call is delightfully worded, so I suggest you go read it in its (tiny) entirety over at their website.
