Brooklyn-based literary art collective/small press Birdsong is celebrating its five year anniversary this year, including the ongoing publication of Birdsong zine, which publishes art, writing and interviews. To celebrate, they want to put together a glossy full-colour mag that will collect the best work the zine has published over its half-decade existence. This excellent idea, as you may have guessed by this point, requires your financial assistance. Publisher Tommy Pico is aiming to raise $3,000 in about a month, with all costs going to the publication of this lovely collection, specifically sourcing high quality paper. The more money that’s given, the better quality the magazine will be. The zines/content looks super beautiful and intriguing, based on a perfunctory look at the collective’s website, so this project will certainly benefit and pop if it gets printed on that expensive shit, know what I mean?
Perks include the “Best of Birdsong” mag of course, plus buttons made specifically for this funding campaign, plus rare photos, silkscreens, books, zines and more, created by Birdsong contributors past and present.
The project will only be funded if this amount is received by Tuesday April 30, so please do visit their Kickstarter page and throw them a few of your dollars, would you?
