This weekend (Saturday and Sunday June 14/15) Broken Pencil will be presenting two zine workshops for Teens and Tweens as part of a massive Girls Rock Camp concert hosted by Harbourfront Centre and NXNE!
We’ll be running two free workshops on zine-making on Saturday and Sunday. We are so excited to show you how to create and bind your own zines using various materials, such as cut and paste collage techniques and black-out writing. Full info below:
Broken Pencil’s Zine Machine for Teens and Tweens
Saturday June 14, from 12-5 p.m. HarbourKids Zone Tent
Sunday June 15 1-5 p.m. HarbourKids Zone Tent
Teens and Tweens can create their own zines with Broken Pencil Magazine.
+ The weekend will also feature concerts at the Redpath Stage, all by musicians under the age of 18 and Girls Rock Camp Toronto graduates, including Brighid Fry, Unicorn Patrol, Pony Metal Orchestra, The Overtones, D’N’A, Riverdale and many more!
+ Over at the Studio Theatre, NXNE will also be showing Girls Rock: The Movie, a documentary about four girls who transform their lives at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls.
