Monday September 16, 6:30-8:30pm, Book Launch: Nothing Man and the Purple Zero, Melody Room, Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West

Local author/rad dude Richard Scarsbrook will be launching his latest novel Nothing Man and the Purple Zero with a live dramatic reading from the book featuring a group of real bona fide actors. Come, listen, drink, enjoy.

Monday September 16, 7pm, Storybook Confidential, Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West, PWYC

It’s a grownup benefit for Small Print Toronto’s interactive literary programs for kids. Readers like Natalie Zina Walschots, Liz Worth, Stacey May Fowles, Damian Rogers, Grace O’Connell, Evan Munday and many others will share samplings of works they wrote while they were youngsters. A cluster of ace picture book designers and illustrators will be offering semi-permanent tattoos. Also, dancing and DJs, and pretty decorations by Type Books window-decorator Kalpna Patel.

Tuesday September 17, 7pm-11pm, How to Kill a Vampire: Book Launch and Trivia, Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen Street West

Join your fellow vampire freaks at the launch of Toronto scribe Liisa Ladoucer’s new book How To Kill a Vampire. At 8pm there will be vampire trivia with prizes! Test your knowledge of True Blood, Let the Right One In, Twilight and some book called Dracula. Also, The Lost Boys, which is my favorite movie basically. Whee!
