Briarpatch has been around for nearly a quarter-century, with a blend of news and political analysis from the demure land we call Saskatchewan. It s explicitly socialist and very correct, but there are some valuable pieces amidst all the fretting about the future of the NDP: in February, they wrote about resource industry tax fraud, Atomic Energy Canada burying nuclear waste on Native land, and labour standoffs in Decatur, Illinois. The articles are short and underwritten, sometimes preachy. It s great to get news from Saskatchewan, but I think Briarpatch could use more writers willing and able to tell the stories involved.
