For some reason, the same people who make the New Irregular zine have decided to create a “sister publication” called Charade. Don’t bother asking why, because it’s not really important. The important thing is that Charade’s debut issue is impressive. Of particular note is Mark Slutsky’s step by step guide on how to have a one-man party – for those nights when you want to get down and still tell your friends to get lost. Sometimes it’s tempting… Asia Marrion’s tirade about being a waitress to the stars, and the crazy things that really rich people will pay for. Benjamin Phelan’s collection of wind bags (plastic bags stuck in the branches of trees) is great. In fact, this zine is so entertaining that by the end of it, I’m thinking forget the sister. If Charade has a brother, give me a call! (EPW)
