A text-laden small font effort by the former creator of Wheel Well. From the front cover on you won’t know what to read or where to look. Every page has an essay by Mark, quotes, clippings and cut-outs. Luckily, there are no pics, or your head would explode. Normally, a zine like this would not exactly win too many points, but the writing is good, and hey, if the writing is good (and almost visible) you shouldn’t care what it looks like, should you? Anyway, Wilson takes on pop culture, he’s ambivalent and confused by the fame and fortune of mass culture, and does a nice job of reflecting his feelings while still making some interesting points. His strange, uncluttered narrative Isn’t That What We’re Supposed To Do? is also worth reading, foot-steps tramping through an echoed, empty landscape and, after all, who did shoot JFK? Mark’s intelligence and humour are clearly focused into thoughtfulness making this a zine worth poring over with your neck craned and your magnifying glass aimed.
