A zine filled with essays highlighting the anti-globalization movement. While at times it veers towards the didactic, it does serve to help readers further understand the racial nature of many of the issues at hand. This first issue is very text-heavy, something that the editors would apparently like to see rectified. It does possess one sizeable comic, called “19 Holes in Amadou Diallo” that is succinct and striking, which bodes well for future artwork in this zine. On the whole, Colours of Resistance only inches onto the shelf labeled “worthwhile activist reading,” but it has the potential to become a significant resource. (Alex Boger)
