Kate provides a checklist to the contents of her zine on the cover, so I’ll follow her lead. #1. Rants: A critique of common sense, thoughts on the subway and a report on pink hair in Newmarket. #2. Reviews: A breakdown of the movie Reality Bites, some record reviews and a spotlight on contemporary artist Ian Carr-Harris. This last stands out for being out of the ordinary for such a casual zine. I’m all for the popular appreciation of modern art and anything anyone does to break down the intimidation factor. More power to Kate! #3. Key to Enlightenment: Could it be the childhood folk singer crush comic? The Bible story? The odd drawings? Or the slapdash whole? I’m betting on the whole. (TD)
