As always, Mai Tai proves an interesting and entertaining resource for Tiki lovers in Montreal and beyond (it’s subtitled The Montreal Tiki Appreciation Society Newsletter). This time, we find out about a Tiki place up in scenic Ste. Adele, although it doesn’t sound like it’s really worth going that far to check it out. The Coconut in Trois-Rivieres, however, is another story. (Having been there myself, I can attest to its time-warp qualities and fine wooden decor.) A search for Tiki places in Ontario is apparently still fruitless (come on, there’s gotta be a Tiki bar somewhere in Canada’s most populous province!) Finally, there’s a guide to building your very own Tiki bar. This zine is invaluable for Tiki lovers, and if you aren’t one already, it very well can turn you into one. You’ve been warned! (LR)
