Ranking as basically a personal ‘zine, Rampage would be improved only by being a few pages longer. Longer because what’s there is good, but it’s over so fast that just when you get a sense of it, it’s all done. What we gather from this issue is that Rampage comes from a young feminist perspective (yikes! the creator was in grade six when the Polytechnic Massacre happened.) A good, but brief, article on female circumcision showed solid research. As well Audrey makes a nice challenge to the riot grrrl ‘zines to stop with the regurgitated stats and get the action going: “So start a fucking riot, tell me why and tell me when, but don’t tell me again.” Layout works in this ‘zine, it varies page to page, with illustrations and even a decent strip, good and readable. Also, there’s a good resource of other ‘zine addresses and indie record reviews.
