Simplified Complexity
Whatever laments you may have read in these pages suggesting that the zine is dead, rest assured it’s not. As long as zines like this one keep cranking out bubbly pages of personal tips and tricks on ordering popcorn at the movie theater (in such a way that you don’t join the Assholes club) and for haggling in shops, the true greatness of the personal zine won’t be lost to merger-mad multinationals. Give me more rebuttals about tv violence, more cab driver rants and bank card fiascoes in the first person singular! I bet this is even a zine that, like the old good days, would do a trade instead of asking for cash. Cut and paste, and zoomed off in the local copy shop – the state of the zine must always answer to the true indie spirit of per-zines like this one. (HC)
