A typical roller-coaster of a high school punk zine, and free! While some serious subjects like vegetarianism, homelessness and public relations firms are tackled, it’s difficult to take much of it too seriously. A rant is directed at people who care more for their pets than for homeless people. However, in another part of the zine, there’s an interview with “Homeless Man with No Shoes,” wherein the writer claims to have been duped into donating money to a street person who is actually comfortable and working the street corner as an occupation. It nullified any effect of the rant. They should have looked for greater insight, rather than treating the subject in a reactionary and judgmental fashion that doesn’t do anyone any favours. Having said that, I did enjoy the skateboard championship report, the bits where Mike Valley discusses God, as well as the comics and requisite punk rock interviews with Gob and Bigwig. (DF)
