I used to like machine music because I used to be a machine. I used to have routines and enjoyed the cathartic throb of regulated anger, disenchantment, alienation… that sort of thing. Ugly music for ugly times, I used to think. Nowadays, I’m too tired to consider myself a machine. I listen mostly to lullabies. The Creeping Nobodies’ music isn’t for going to bed, it’s for staying up all night, caffeinated and grinding your teeth. Those were the days. (Terence Dick)
