Well, here we’ve got one of those personal opinion e-zines wherein the author expounds upon an eclectic range of topics and gets to do things like call himself the author and use words like “wherein” and “eclectic.” As such, it’s no better or no worse than a dozen other personal opinion zines you’re likely to find on the Web or on paper. The centerpiece of the premiere issue, modestly entitled “The Deterioration of Morals In Today’s Modern Society,” calls for a return to the traditional nuclear family, laments the popularity of porn on the Internet, and concludes with a slightly rancid whiff of latent racism. The next article, about teenagers getting hassled by staff people the mall, is a little lighter in tone, but not by much. According to the editorial, The Pigeon’s Lair is supposed to hit the wires bi-monthly. Sadly, this first issue came out in the spring of 1996, and doesn’t seem to have been updated since. Ah well.
