Tyme

This first issue of Viv s little, desktop personal zine is in the classic, casual-feminist, TV- watchin , rambling, shambling, self-reflexive tradition of a million other zines like it, but that doesn t make it stale. You ll get an edischmtorial on the glories of The Learning Channel s Italian chef Biba, meditations on the noble Land Rover and the superiority of bass sounds to bassmobiles, and kewl poetry printed without permission. Not to mention The Margin Pple , stick figures on parachutes who float around the page edges ( We were invented during boring lectures, the Pple explain.) One refreshing element of tyme is that Viv is a mechanical engineering student, not some goddam artsie gadabout, and there is a straight-to-the-point appeal to her musings.
