Workplace: The Journal for Academic Labour

One of the fastest growing sectors of unions are university campuses. From support staff through teaching assistants to faculty, collective bargaining is seen more and more as an essential part of university employees being treated with respect and dignity. Indeed, when matters such as the need for smaller class sizes and affirmative action are key demands, work place struggles on campuses are linked intimately to the quality of education in post-secondary institutions. This e-zine is dedicated primarily to the experience of university staff as workers. From updates on unionising drives to discussion on the effect of the internet on the university, a lot of issues are covered. Like many such academic-orientated sites, there are few graphics. This wouldn’t likely significantly matter to the intended audience. There are good links to related sites. (BB)
