“I would welcome correspondence, and throw away without hesitation, any unmarked petri dishes. -Liane” Thus ends the editorial, and there’s your clue that the sense of humor which follows is of a singular sort. And it’s funny! Zeitgeist is a rather metaphysically-oriented canary, although his friend Sausalito is somewhat more down-to-earth. At one point Zeitgeist, after one of his rather lengthy diatribes, exclaims “I mean, is bigger better?” After a pause, Sausalito drily replies, “It’s glandular.” Simple drawings, but with complex humor. I guess that makes it more balanced. Whatever it is, it’s a fun read, and a fine first issue. (LR)
