Flux
Theory: Some people get together and say “hey, I wonder if we could put together a lot of trendy Rave culture ads and make some money?” Ta-da. One good thing about this pocket sized billboard collection is that it’s eye candy. As much as I am repulsed (if not outright offended) by most ad mags, this particular issue seems void of any blatant sexism.(unlike say Vice Magazine) It even has a short feature on a female Hiphop/Triphop/House dj, aka DJ Heather. This is a rarity. Flux is definitely seductive, which proves the disturbing power of advertizing. I mean when you go to a Rave, what do you see? Well, a lot of people looking all glossy and posed, like they’re in a video or something. (MI)
