The penis-shaped plane and penis-shaped clouds that adorn Pilot Love serve as a pretty decent harbinger of what to expect in this seriously warped comic. A few more hand drawn members exist within, alongside a number of etchings of the star of Look Who’s Talking, Look Who’s Talking Too and Look Who’s Talking Now, John Travolta. Spoiler alert: some of the members belong to him!

All told, there are at least 10 Travolta variations depicted in Pilot Love and there may very well be more although it’s tough to tell since about half of the “leading men” (term used loosely) are horribly disfigured and in various states of undress. In terms of other focus areas, worms and/or intestines are drawn liberally and on the whole, this amounts to a voyeuristic peek into the collective sketchbook of Pilot Love creators, Fake Injury Party’s Derrick Guerin, Scott Leeming, Paul Tjepkema and Kif Scott.

Some of the drawings seem like they could’ve been lifted from the portfolio of a street-based portrait artist (not a bad thing IMHO) while others are just kind of creepy and mildly disturbing such as drawing of the unfortunate soul who has a herd of stampeding horses where his hair should be. It looks painful and again, I think this is really just another Travolta composite in disrepair.  (Cam Gordon)
