Since 2017, Broken Pencil has celebrated zine excellence with an award like no other: The Broken Pencil Zine Awards.
We are happy to announce that submissions for the 2023 awards are now… OPEN!
Between now and September 15th, 2023, enter your zines, comix, leaflets and self-published wonders into the mix. Each zine category (Perzine, Comics, Fanzine, Infozine, Litzine, Artzine and Political Zine) will be reviewed by our panel of guest judges, made up of some the most exciting zinesters, artists and authors in the field.
Winners of each category will take away a cash prize, including the winner of our Zine of the Year award. A ceremony to announce the winners will occur later this year in Toronto and then written up in the following issue of the magazine. Stay tuned for more information about our exciting panel of judges and awards ceremony.
