I was impressed with the wild, frenetic poetry of Daniel Collin. This young, verbose poetry that flies straight into the window, cracks its beak, flutters up and tries it again. A few of his poems – daisy may i kiss you on the lips – demonstrate an impressive velocity and a power to command language that can only be admired. Others aren’t so lucky, their speed becomes exhausing, there’s nothing for us to hang on to besides a whirlwind of disconnected images. Don’t get me wrong though, Collin has talent and vision – now all he needs is enough control to know that you don’t always have to smash the window to get inside. (HN)
