Fun With Crowdfunding: Rob Sacchetto’s Cape Fear

Sudbury Ontario-based artist Rob Sacchetto is on the tail end of a fundraising campaign that will help him complete a comic book 15 years in the making. Cape Fear is a 150-page graphic novel featuring a zombie werewolf, a psychotic venegeful sister and the main character, Fear itself. It’s Sacchetto’s first full-length graphic novel (he is also known for his popular zombie illustrations and portraits.) On his IndieGogo page, Sacchetto explains that he has opted for the crowdfunding route in order to directly engage his contributors and allow them to witness the process of his labour of love’s completion. There is an added – and extremely pertinent – catch: If Sacchetto does not raise at least $3,500 by November 30, all the donated funds will be refunded. It’s all or nothing here, folks. As of today, Saccetto is about $1000 short of the goal.

Perks range from hard and digital copies of the finished product, advertising space, original artwork from the graphic novel and of course, a zombie portrait. Based on the sneak peeks we’ve seen so far, this looks to be an exquisitely illustrated and accomplished piece of work, and we encourage you to help further Sacchetto’s vision.  Check out his campaign video below, and visit his impassioned IndieGogo page here, which includes artwork and pages from Cape Fear.
