Tuesday August 27, 7:30-10:30pm, Choir Choir Choir! presents the Cure/Love Cat Costume Contest, No One Writes to the Colonel, 460 College

This week, join the giant gang of open sourced singers as they tackle “Love Song” and “In Between Days” by the Cure. Added bonus: the best costumed “Love Cat” in attendance will receive a prize. This is one of Toronto’s best things. Go to it!

Wednesday August 28, 7pm, Local Heroes, Glad Day Bookshop, 598a Yonge Street

Saturday August 31, 8pm, Toronto Poetry Slam feat. Mighty Mike McGee, The Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen Street West, $5

Mike McGee from San Jose is rockin the Drake Hotel stage for his only Toronto stop. Plus a five-slot open mic.

Featuring various local musical and literary talents.

Sunday September 1, Music Waste and CiTR 101.9FM | Victory Square Block Party, Victory Square Park

With eight local bands, DJs, a raffle, food trucks and other festivities, The Victory Square Block Party promises to showcase some of Vancouver’s best musical talent while helping fund independent media and support Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
