A Soft Degrade has four different writers writing different stories throughout, so you can imagine that there’s some diversity within the writing… but each piece in this zine is remarkably similar. The same somewhat-snarky tone, the same layout…everything. Which, when the writing is decent, is not a bad case; and the writing here is alright. So, I‘m not complaining. Basically focussing on day-to-day happenings, and adding a little humour now and then. Nothing to write home about, but certainly not bad, by any means. (Anthony Gerace)
