Yay, Fish Piss is back. With this issue, editor Louis promises an issue every 3 months, which is more than BP promises and, really, quite an ambitious schedule, but we’ll all be better for it if it happens! If you haven’t read FP, well, now is your chance to get acquainted with one of Canada’s best zines and the finest chronicle of indie literary/comic activity in Montreal available. This issue, FP talks to some guy about his job as a Telemarketer. There’s a long account by Louis of your typical Jean Baptiste Day riot. There’s a transcription of an interview entitled “The Rough and Ready Ways of Montreal’s Bar Scene in 1962” which discusses the nightlife of the neighborhood centred around Ste. Catherine and St. Denis streets – you can apparently still find the bullet hole from the incident the interview chronicles. There’s also comics from all the Montreal greats plus record reviews and more. If I had one complaint it would be that some of the stuff in this issue seems a bit dated, which is probably because of FP’s long hiatus. Now that it’s back, I’m sure the problem will be rectified next issue, so don’t let that stop you from checking it out. (Hal Niedzviecki)
