Minus Tides is one of the few political magazines that doesn’t adopt a preachy, or even worse, generic tone. Mainly, that’s because it’s a zine that is truly dedicated to free expression, championing surreal and pastiche forms of writing that challenge narrative as the sole way we can express ourselves in written words. I loved the Ross Priddle cartoon/poem about Lampman, and the poetry of Jessica MacCormack was pretty great too. Hans Jungmann’s Auto Erotic punches right through the envelope and delivers a knock out. What happens when words have the power to transcend the strictures of language? A great zine. (HN)
