“Nymphet” is a new book of poetry by Cat Tyc, a writer and small press employee (Soft Skull Press) out of NYC. The book is about as old skool as it gets, with handwritten titles and cut-out fashion photos for illustrations, which just adds to its charm. Cat writes about traditional feminist issues but with her own confessional and punk-rock twist to them. Check out “DIY Kind of Love,” for example – “We’ll have an embarrassingly honest zine kind of love…linear plot line like in a foreign movie but with a happy ending kind of love.” Certainly nothing spectacular, but nothing to sneeze at either. I like! (JP)
