Stay Awake is a funky litzine that is well – funky. Sarah’s current editorial stance seems to be that she is interested in publishing more quality short stories. It’s a shame then that in this issue of Stay Awake, we only get three quality short stories (one is by the editor herself). Probably the highlight of Stay Awake for me though was Sarah’s “e-mail follies.” This is the section where Sarah excerpts actual e-mails that have been sent to her for our “voyeuristic indulgence.” It was a pretty funny because you get to see straight into Sarah’s wacky world. I mean, regardless of the direction in which Sarah eventually steers her zine, I hope she keeps this section. And oh yeah, before I forget, send this poor editor some more short stories and e-mail to work with! She needs it. (DP)
