This is a fine cut-and-paste zine in the traditional punk style by a Montrealer named Nathan. He straightforwardly describes the scenery of Sarnia, the secluded abandoned building known as “Punk Place” found therein, and some of the moods and impressions of the author upon leaving his hometown. He also interviews people from the “Lookout Records” mail-order crew, shedding light on people “whose work goes by unnoticed”, and coming up with some fun-to-read conversations in the process. He reprints an excellent letter from Arbeiter Ring Publishing urging us all to “Destroy Chapters!”, which explains to some degree how the mega-bookstores (Indigo too) are currently destroying nearly all of Canadian publishing and book retailing. The zine ends with some of his first impressions upon moving to Montreal, as well as a fun interview with Aaron Cometbus. Easy to read and entertaining. In short, it’s a successful first issue, which I hope will soon be followed by more. (Louis Rastelli)
