Hey, who wants to chow down at dying burger chain Big Boy? Seems like a lot of people still remember the pudgy icon of fast-food. Not only do the various contributors to this anthology remeber him, they regale his glory, they do him justice in full colour. Part homage, part irreverence, part deconstruction, this second issue of Big Boy is a colour comic anthology complete with shakes, fries and the American flag. The effect is haunting, at once a commentary on the way we know our corporate trade-marks, and the way we make that knowledge internal and true to ourselves. Or maybe I’m reading too much into this. Big Boy is “remembering and dismembering”. (HN)
