The brilliant Toronto-based publisher of weird, horrific and speculative fiction ChiZine has accomplished a lot in five years of existence. Come celebrate with them on Tuesday with some short readings, music, food n’ booze, and check out the 2013 installment of Imaginarium: The Best Canadian Speculative Writing, featuring a piece by our own associate fiction editor A.G. Pasquella!
Networking begins at 6:30 with guest Banoo Zan who will talk about “Poetry, Politics and Performance: writing and getting your poetry published.” Followed by readings by Lydia Perovic, Brian Francis, Rose Cullis and Shani Mootoo!
We don’t usually list music shows in this here piece but the rad girl/grrl group Patti Cake is launching a zine at this show! So rad.
Hosted by Cathy Petch. With open mic and special guest Andre Prefontaine from Calgary (he’s the reigning underground slam champion of Canada, dontcha know!)
OTTAWA
