Gleet
If I had to imagine what the ultimate music zine would contain, I would include long articles on obscure bands that I have only vaguely heard of, maybe even a band that had been around for thirty years playing festivals in Europe and bars in some wayward corner of North America. The other bands would be from the real underground, beyond fashion and sub-cultures; true outsiders who seem ageless because they don’t fit into any time. Japanese free jazz, heavy metal mystics and displaced American Situationist proto-punk skiffle-drone bands. These bands are real and the zine is real and it’s called GLEET. (TD)
